We advertise in many prominent trade publications. You may have seen our ads in such recognizable magazines as, Professional Tool & Equipment News, Motor Magazine, TechShop Magazine, Hemmings Motor News, Deals On Wheels, Old Cars Weekly and many, many others. One recent publication that approached us was Collector Car Market Review. They heard about the recent change at Deals on Wheels magazine. Deals on Wheels changed over to sa strictly on-line format. No more paper magazine. So CCMR smartly decided to approach all of the recent past advertisers of Deals On Wheels to entice them into a place to go to get back into the trade magazine ad business. We had heard of them and knew their reputation was solid, so we figured we’d give it a shot. You can view our most recent ad in their magazine by clicking on the link below -

By the way, we’re also still doing quite a bit with the folks at Deals On Wheels. You can view our banner ads all over their web site as well.
Let us know what you think of both ads.

Here is another post showing our customer Two Post Lift pictures. The latest set of pictures is provided by Sean Martinez from two locations, Tucson, AZ and McKinney, TX. He needed a two post lift to perform work on his 1966 Chevelle. He wanted a lift that was reliable, from a manufacturer with a good reputation and with certain key features. He also demanded a lift that was ALI Certified and one that has a solid, comprehensive warranty. With his requirements for quality, features and safety, we had only one lift in mind. We recommended the BendPak XPR10AC two post lift. It has top of the line features, like direct drive hydraulic cylinders, 53 inch tall lift carriages, triple telescoping arms in the front, along with the famous BendPak 5/2/1 warranty. It has the rugged construction that Bend Pak is known for and the best powder coating system in the business. Plus, even though it is an asymmetric lift, it has the ability to position the car symmetrically as well. Thanks for the pictures Sean.

We always take these opportunities to warn you of impending price increases. Dannmar, the manufacturer of our very popular MaxJax Two Post Lift has informed us that they have scheduled a price increase for October 1st.
This price increase is going to be pretty significant. We’re not sure of the percentage of the increase just yet, but they have warned us that it will be at least 5%.
If you’re not familiar with this unique auto lift, check it out on our web site. It basically takes all the features you desire in a two post lift, but makes it shorter so it will fit in home / hobbyist garages whose ceilings are too low for a traditional two post lift. And here’s the kicker, it does not have to be permanently mounted. You are able to simply unbolt it from the floor, and roll it over into the corner of your shop when you aren’t using it if you so desire. This portability feature is a great selling point because many customers don’t want two large posts taking up space in their garage.
So now is the time to jump in on one of the most popular car lifts we’ve ever carried. The current minimum price the manufacturer allows us to advertise this lift for is $1999. But until the end of September, we are offering an even better deal. We cannot advertise the price here. You’ll have to call us to find out the price. It will be worth your time to call.

The folks at BendPak never rest on their laurels. They are constantly improving their products. Always innovating. Always redesigning. Always coming out with new and better products.
So when they recently came out with the new HDS series of four post lift, we thought, how could they improve on their old HD models? They already had some of the best features like extra heavy duty 1/2 inch aircraft cables, direct pull hydraulic cylinders that work under a much lower pressure, and a single push button pnuenmatic safety release mechanism. So we thought, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
They didn’t reinvent the wheel here. Just a very smart improvement designed to increase the longevity of the lifts working parts. So what new features are on the new BendPak four post lift? A modest little change that helps you save money over the life of the lift. They made the pulleys twice the diameter. Having these oversized pulleys means your cables will now last twice as long. It’s a smart idea that means less headaches for you in the long run. And as always, these lifts are ALI Certified, so you know it’s top quality and meets all the minimum safety standards.
Now here is where the savings come in – We still have a few of the old HD series lifts available. And you can get in on one of these at a substantial discount. For a limited time, you can get the HD-14 lift for only $3136 and the extra long HD-14X for only $3696. As always, shipping is free. But don’t wait too long. There is a very limited supply and once these are gone, they’re gone.

For many years, BendPak designed and manufactured both a wide and a narrow version of their two post lifts. It was a great idea, because it allowed users to choose a car lift that fit their garage floor space. Then, recently, BendPak decided to create an adjustable width lift. So now, you can set it up wide or narrow. You determine what width to set it up at when you get it. No need to decide until you’re ready to set it up.
If you’re looking to save a buck or two, we still have a few of the old standard / narrow width models available. This is the model XPR-10AC Two Post Lift. For a limited time, you can enjoy a substantial savings off this old discontinued model. This model has all of the same features of the brand new model, except for the adjustable feature.
This lift formerly sold at $2865. But, until we run out, You can get this lift at the low price of only $2632 with free shipping. But don’t waste any time. Once these lifts are gone, they’re gone.

We have touched on this subject in previous posts. Lost in the busy news week last week was an important story for the auto industry. The Obama administration just unveiled that they are mandating new fuel efficiency standards for automobiles that will raise the standards to require a much higher 54.5 miles per gallon by the year 2025. This is nearly double the current level. These standards are known as the CAFE standards (Corporate Average Fuel Economy). The administration contends that this will not only decrease emissions, but will also help save drivers many dollars in fuel each year.
2025 may seem like a long way off, but some critics claim that these standards are unrealistic and will place a burden on auto makers as well as consumers. Estimates are that it will increase the price of a new car dramatically, as well as decrease safety. One of the ways automakers can meet these standards is to manufacture smaller, lighter vehicles, which means they are sacrificing safety. The NHTSA, (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has concerns that smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles will lead to increased injuries and fatalities during accidents. Due to increasing fuel efficiency requirements, some experts attribute 2500 more fatalities each year because of smaller, less safe cars that sacrifice safety because of less steel.
Critics argue that the market should dictate such standards. If the cost of fuel causes consumers to steer toward more fuel efficient cars, then that is the capitalist market working as it should without government meddling.
What do you think? Should the government step in and require higher standards? And how high is too high?

We told you in a previous post that we would be appearing on the very popular Two Guys Garage Television show found on the SPEED Channel. We supplied them with a TTech TT500 Transmission Flusher that they proceeded to use to exchange the transmission fluid from a 2004 Corvette.
This Episode # 1007 just appeared last week and received a great reception by all accounts. The show has been appearing on the Speed Channel for several years now and enjoys a healthy audience of car enthusiasts and home / hobbyists along with serious professionals and technicians who want to learn the latest tips and tricks for auto repair.
You can check out a clip of the episode by just clicking on the link and let us know what you think. We’re planning on many more incursions into TV land in the future, so stay tuned for more details.

We mentioned the Terrafugia flying car in a previous post. At that time, they had completed research and development and were seeking approval for use in the USA. News just came out that the flying car has been approved for use in the USA.
Just in time too. Traffic is increasing every year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has cleared the car for production, and the Terrafugia should begin production soon, and should begin distributing them in 2012.
This is also great news for the local economy in Massachusetts, where the plant that manufactures them is located. The hybrid road / aircraft has stipulations set forth by the NHTSA. This aircraft is the first of it’s kind in many ways. It meets many requirements that no other has when it comes to highway / air travel. Most notable are the requirements that require tires that are suitable for highway speeds and a windshield that is shatterproof to prevent catastrophe from potentially flying through a flock of birds.
The wings fold up in about a minute when you’re ready for road travel. It has airbags for driver and passenger airbags, which might come in handy in road travel, but may not be quite as helpful when traveling by air.
Initial estimates for pricing by the manufacturer indicate that they expect this to hit the market at about $250,000. Obviously, budget is not the only reason most consumers will not be placing an order for one anytime soon. You’ll need a valid pilot’s license as well. We’re also not quite sure how you’ll fit one on a car lift when it needs to be serviced.

Fans of gearhead television shows like Two Guys Garage, seen regularly on the Speed Channel have an opportunity to check out an episode that we played a small role in this weekend.
Arthur Irwin, producer for Two Guys Garage, contacted us several months ago, asking us to provide a TTech transmission fluid service machine that would be featured on the show. How could we refuse? We sent them a TTech transmission fluid exchanger, that they used to illustrate the benefits of servicing your transmission in this most recent episode. This show features two experts in the field who go over a wide variety of services that are aimed at instructing you on the best techniques for servicing autos.
This episode is scheduled to air beginning 7/16 and air several times throughout the week. Once it airs, we will be able to bring you a copy on this blog so you can view the episode as it appeared. But if you don’t want to wait, just check out the Speed Channel for their schedule.
